What does this machine performs?- Measures Hemoglobuline (Hb) (using optical measurement of lysed red blood cells)
- Calculates numbers of platelets and red blood cells
- Measured using optical and impedance technique

- Measures mean corpuscular volume and mean platelet volume
- Using impedance --> 'normal distribution' curve
- Calculates white blood cells
- Differentiatiates white blood cells using MAPSS (multi angle polarized scatter separation).
- lasers and mirrors are arranged so the white blood cells can be differentiated based on theirs complexity (i.e. granules) and sizes.

- Long lymphocytes gate: variant lyphocytes
- Non viable cells on the FL3 gate: might be piknotic erythroblasts (figure above: red)
- Spread scatter of neutrophils granulocytes (figure below, yellow): immature granulocytes (myelocytes, metamyelocytes in infection)
