Quality control of agar

- Some laboratories still make the agar by themselves.
- It is important to check whether these agars allows the bacteria to grow and in case for selective grow, that other bacteria do not grow on this agar.
- Logically, it should be done for every batch.
- The bacterias used to test the agars are mainly from ATCC.
- Low inoculum can be used to inoculate agar where the bacteria is expected to grow and higher inoculum can be used to inoculate the agar where the bacteria do not suppose to grow.
